Does apple dot com sell mini M2??

I need to replace my 2018 Mini but don't really need all the M4 bells & whistles.

I don't see any mention of the M2 in the Mini section of the store - are they in there somewhere??

When I got mine I was a little concerned about the 8 GB RAM and tiny 256 GB SSD leading to a shortening of its life so I bought a Crucial 1 TB SSD for around £60 that plugs into the USB port, installed the operating system on it and ran the mini from that.

Although the SSD is only a quarter the speed of the internal it has no noticeable effect on the speed of the computer . . . editing, rendering and exporting 1080p and 4K video is virtually as fast.

It means that after a year my internal SSD has only written about 500 GB, all the work and wear being on the cheap external.

The whole process is simple and quick and I can give you more information if required.

The Mac mini M2 is no longer sold as new direct by Apple online since the release of improved models.

However, keep an eye on the offerings at Apple's Certified Refurbished website: Refurbished Mac Deals - Apple

The many Macs listed here may change daily as the units that are available come and go.

You might also find something you like at MacOfAllTrades.com or macsales.com. The latter sells new and used Macs and they do it right.

Don't be tempted to buy from an unknown individual on eBay, Craigslist, OfferUp, LetGo or the like. Most Mac users do not know to how to properly prepare a Mac for resale and you could easily fall victim and end up with a door stop.

Buy only from Apple or a reputable Mac reseller who is known to stand behind their sales.

Thanks, Ian - that's what I'm going to do. Amazon have them, new and without having to search the entire Apple sit to be told that all that's available is the newest, glitziest, more-stuff-than-I'll-ever-use-or-have-any-use-for piece of bells&whistles.

And without having to make the Community answer questions that Apple should have taken care of. :P

So, thanks again! ^_^
