Can I UPDATE apple iCloud contacts by importing the updates via .csv file?

I have deleted all the unneeded lists in Apple Contacts. Now I want to update several hundred efficiently using a csv file where the majority of the columns contain the same information that it is already in my apple contacts but one of the columns contains the smart list that I want them to be on.

The desired end result is to NOT have duplicate contacts or duplicate information in the contacts that already exist AND have each respective contact be updated with the desired list?
