CarPlay not working on iOS 18.1.1

Hi. I have 2 iPhones work and mine now both on iOS 18.1.1. And still as of nov 21. CarPlay is not working. I’ve connected a colleagues which is still on iOS 17 with no problems which to me shows iOS 18 is the problem I know people have already asked and I’ve done all the bits that have been suggested with no luck as of the above day is anyone aware of any updates to cure this or is it a case of waiting for Apple to pull their finger out and sort this problem?
