Notification bubble shows a groupchat with 2 people but they are the same person

Every time I get a notification from only one of my contacts, it shows a groupchat with the contact and a copy of them as well. Same contact photo for the two but the name says Maybe: (contact name).

When I click on the message it sends me to regular imessages with the contact like normal. Only the notifications show that I am in a groupchat with 2 versions of them but no issue with messages.

There are times where they text using their macbook but this has never caused an issue before a week ago, so I imagine it has to do with that but I can’t fix the notification issue.
