Sequoia file search does not always work.

Hello,

I have come across the following problem. When I searched for the file name using the finder in Sonoma it would come up with all the files whose name contained the typed sequence of letters or numbers. In 15.1.1 it does not work the same way. It shows some files, and some remain undetected.

I thought that just maybe it can find the files written after I have updated the system to 15.1, but it seems false. It finds some files. I have even copied the name of the file on the disk and pasted it into the search window in the finder, and got no results.

Have you found the same problem?

There is another person with the same issue: Partial word match often broken after upgrading to Sequoia...

I can't replicate the problem.

Have you rebuilt your Spotlight Index? Rebuild the Spotlight index on your Mac - Apple Support

Very frustrating working on a project ;

I have files in different folders BUT in searching for these files in different folders with search finder & spotlight they are not finding all files in all the folders with the Sequoia Upgrade on my NEW MacBook??

When is Apple going to fix this major bug in the operating system??

It is not good enough : I have to do this MANUALLY ???

If you have the preferences set to search the current folder, it will search that folder and all sub folders, but not adjacent folders. If you switch to this Mac, then you should find things in other folders that are not within the folder hierarchy that you are searching. If that is not working such that you’re not finding files, you need to contact Apple Because besides offering the suggestion of rebuilding the spotlight index there is nothing we can do about it randomly not finding things.
