A couple time, after installing the Sequia V15.1, this process slow down the laptop. Anyway to solve rather than force quit everytime?

Try changing wall paper and compare your results.
Have you shut down and restarted more than once since your install.
A SafeBoot Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support will sort many anomalies.
Login and test. Reboot as normal and test. Caches get rebuilt automatically.
