USB device not recognized (IPod Classic)

I have had this IPod Classic for about 6 months and haven't had any issues. I use it to listen to music in my vehicle and at work. Last week the stereo in my vehicle didn't recognize it so I had to listen to the radio. When I got into work and connected it to the computer ITunes didn't recognize it either. I tried different USB ports on my laptop at work and even bought new cords but still nothing. I tried plugging it into my computer at home and the same result.

On the IPod itself it doesn't show it is charging, even when plugged into the computer or a power outlet. I have tried resetting it and putting it into disk mode (pressing/holding the menu button and center button until the Apple icon shows up) but that hasn't fixed the issue either.

I am using Windows 10 at work and Windows 11 at home. I just bought "Apple certified" cables and still I get the "The last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned and Windows does not recognize it" error. I have shut down and restarted both computers and that didn't fix anything either.

I have checked for updates on both computers and ITunes; I have uninstalled and re-installed ITunes but that didn't work either. I tried updating the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver in Windows and that did not work either.

Windows, Windows 10
