Where to find recently generated passwords?

Hi!

I remember that before IOS 18, when my password wasn’t saved, I could go into passwords and then see the recently generated passwords.

Since IOS 18/ the passwords app, it happens way more often that a generated password isn’t saved, but I cannot find the list of recently generated passwords anymore. Does anyone know where I can find this it?

thanks in advance!

iPhone 13, iOS 18

Yeah, what stephaee said: it’s good to know about the date sort, but the passwords app is failing to save the password. Since it isn’t saved, the date of the password change for that site (or creation ) is not there.

Pretty serious bug for Passwords, Apple. Not saving … passwords. Please fix asap.

Select any password from the list in the Passwords app. Select Edit > Change Password.

Change the password on the target website.

Return to Passwords app.

In the search bar, type the name of the Password e.g. Reddit or Netflix etc.

Multiple entries will appear. Select ‘1 recently generated password’.

The Generated Passwords screen will open.

This displays passwords created in the last 30 days including those from Private Browsing.

I’ve just discovered this regression in iOS 18 too. In 17 you could simply see all recently generated passwords.

in iOS 18 you must know the name of the website it was generated for. Which can be awful if it was in an app. Only then can you search to see the “recently generated” function

since it’s not been “fixed” yet, I presume they’re intent in this feature regression.

iOS 17 was superior for finding every single password that was auto generated in the event one of those was accepted by a service and it didn’t save properly your side

Same. Went through the Forgot Password steps and reset my password thrice, each time the generated password wasn’t saved, and I ended up locked out of the account.

The last time I copied it to the clipboard, figured when I logged in (as opposed to the create new Password page) it would ask me to save the login info.

But by the time I got to the login page, the clipboard had cleared. And trying to make a fourth new password locked me out.

Very frustrating that it doesn’t show recently generated passwords like it used to.
