Can't Adjust Volume on GarageBand IOS with Volume Buttons

Version: GarageBand 2.3.17

About a weeks ago, I encountered a bug in which my volume is locked whenever I open the GarageBand app. I was able to fix it initially by closing the song and restarting the app, but now and can't adjust the volume at all. The only way to adjust any volume is by adjusting the track volume. Is there something I can do to fix this or do I need to wait for the next update?
