Unable to Join Apple Intelligence Waitlist: ‘Join Waitlist’ Button Unresponsive on US iPad

I am trying to join the Apple Intelligence waitlist in the ‘Apple Intelligence & Siri’ settings on my iPad. However, when I tap the ‘Join Waitlist’ button, nothing happens. Normally, it should display a confirmation like ‘Joined Waitlist,’ but the button seems unresponsive. My device is a U.S. version, it is connected to a U.S. network, the language and region are set to English and the United States, and my Apple ID is also a U.S. account. I have tried restarting the Settings app and the iPad, but the issue persists. How can I resolve this?

Check your model number against the models listed in this link --> Identify your iPad model - Apple Support

By chance is your model one which is for China Mainland? If yes, it doesn't matter if you live in the US as that model will not be able to use Apple Intelligence until it is released in China in the future.

Also, your tag line says iPad Pro. Is it one released in 2022 or newer, with an M (Silicone) Chip?
