A. Restart your Mac:

After every update, you should backup your device, and then restart it. So, perform the restart.

B. Restore to a Time Machine Backup:

Any Time Machine Backups made prior to this update installation? If so, restore to one.

Learn from this:

If you never made a Time Machine Backup before this update, then learn from this, by knowing to always create a backup prior to any update installation. That way, you have something to restore you Mac from, should anything go wrong with the update(s) installation(s). Use an External Hard Drive that is at least 1.5(one-and-a-half) times the storage capacity as the internal drive.
