Prevent child from playing Apple Music through Clock app

I‘ve set a daily time limit for Apple Music on my child‘s iPhone, and it works when playing music through the Music App.

However, they’re able to play music with no restrictions at all by setting an alarm in the Clock app: they can set a sound from Apple Music, which actually let’s them navigate the Music App and play as long as they want.

Is there any way you prevent this? I’ve navigated through all restriction possibilities, but no restriction can be set on the clock app (other than deleting it upfront).

When I look at my child’s screen time report, i see big gray bars corresponding to their time playing music via alarm sound, which tells me that this usage is not categorized and can’t be restricted.

Please record this indirect usage of Apple Music. This feels like an awkward bug of the parental controls feature.

iPhone 11, iOS 18
