I've got two external SSD drives I'm connecting via USB to my new M4 Mac Mini (Sequoia 15). While the drives remain mounted and accessible, they vanish from the desktop shortly after startup. Both drives connected the same way worked perfectly on my M1 Mac Mini.
Any suggestions on how to fix this?
Mac mini (M4)
Control (right) click on your Desktop and select Sort By > None
Go to > Finder Settings > General > check External disks
See if you can find them in Locations in the Finder
Hi. They're still visible and accessible in the Finder as well as apps - they just aren’t shown on my desktop.
Okay, so not disappearing - just randomly repositioned on my desktop - like behind active windows.
External drive icons should line up under the Macintosh HD on the upper right hand side, as long as that space is not cluttered up by other desktop icons.
Exactly, which is what I’ve done, however, they’re moved to random spots on my screen. Not ejected or unavailable, just not where I left them.
