Since upgrading to Sequoia 15.1, the "Open Recent" function in Pages and Numbers doesn't work. It only displays "Clear Menu." Yes, it worked before the upgrade.
I've looked through system settings and Pages/Numbers settings, but am not finding a place to turn this back on.

I've tried everything you say... still nothing... I opened up multiple documents and nothing shows up under the "Open Recent" function. Please help!
System Settings > Control Center panel. Last entry is Recent documents, applications, and servers __ ↕︎. Mine is set to 10.
You will need to open and close Pages documents for that stack of recent to begin populating. Documents that are deleted will remain on that Recents list until replaced by subsequent activity.
Tested: Pages v14.2 and Sequoia v15.1
This doesn't work for me with Pages 14.2 (or Numbers) and Sonoma 14.7.1 on an M1 Mac Mini. Worked before the update. Tried setting Recent docs to 15 (it was at 10) and then to 50, still no recent documents will show. Something else must be causing this issue. I'll keep looking.
No recent documents will show until you have opened, saved, or closed several Pages documents. That process will begin to build that stack of recent documents in Pages. Just adjusting the Control Center value to a number does not magically bring back the last ten Pages documents you have edited.
