This copy of the Install macOS Monterey application is damaged, and can‘t be used to install macOS.

I currently run a Mac Book Pro 15` from late 2016 with BigSur and every time I try to upgrade it to Monterey it gives me the following message: This copy of the Install macOS Monterey application is damaged, and can‘t be used to install macOS. I've got no antivirus, switched off the firewall and no malware. What gives? I've also redownloaded the file many times with the same results.

FWIW, all but one of my Macs, and my iPhones and iPads have always been updated/upgraded on Wi-Fi. It's never been an issue for me for as many years as I can remember. I know some people think it is. I suppose if one has horrible Wi-Fi service it might be an issue.

Very time consuming especially when all my datas and files had to be downloaded from cloud. Thank goodness for fast broadband! I still have no idea what could have prevented my MacBook from upgrading before…
