MacOS mouse shortcuts are reset upon restart or shutdown

It is not a issue in logitech mouse, becase I tested other mouses such as lenveo, this issue also exists. however, if the mac doesn't connect to any mouse, it should be success to save the mouse settings by touch pad, it is still a issue with mac os system itself.

Same issue. iMac 5k 2020 (Intel). This never happened, but now with Sequoia. I am 100% sure it has to do with Sequoia because recently I had to return a LaCie SSD because of another of this kind of critical bug that corrupted the drive's permissions.

My ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.Desktop-Settings.extension/Data/Library/Preferences/com.apple.symbolichotkeys.plist has four entries in it.

My ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.symbolichotkeys.plist file had many, many entries in it.

However, my source .plist had keys 38–41, and the destination .plist didn’t have those keys in it.

So I opened both files with a text editor and copied the four entries into the much larger .plist in ~/Library/Preferences.

I wouldn’t recommend my mother do this on her machine, but it’s something I’m comfortable enough doing, and it worked as a workaround.

Thank you for this! This solution worked for me but NOTE that to find the plist file to copy I had to go to ~/Library/Container/Desktop & Dock/Data/Library/Preferences instead. For whatever reason the other folder (com.apple.Desktop-Settings.extension) didn't exist. Perhaps they moved it in 15.3 (but didn't fix the bug!)?

The issue that will arise, once they see a Third Party Non Apple Device - I bet is it will not get too much traction

The Classic Mighty Mouse Released Aug 2, 2005 - Discontinued October 20, 2009  being an exception but then again, there are not that many of them available for Retail Purchase

The same issues with my mac on macos 15.

It's not about logitech, it's a issue with the macOS 15 itself only. I think Apple team will fix it in the next few version.

Same issue here, using a Razer Viper V3 Pro.

As this thread indicates, it doesn't matter what mouse you have it's an OS bug.

Weird thing for me is that I had my M2 Macbook side by side with my M4 for a short while, had no issue on my M2 and this keeps happening with the M4. Along with usb-c monitor issues that I didn't have on the M2

This indeed fixed it for me on my Mac mini 2018.

Everything back to normal: both keyboard shortcuts and mouse shortcuts work as before.

It is confirmed: it is a bug introduced in macOS 15.1 Sequoia.

Apple has never tailored made the Apple Computers and versions of OS X / macOS to work with Third Party anything

What the user takes away from this, is really up to the user .
