Sequoia 15.1 - LG UltraFine 32UQ850V-W doesn't sleep after Mini M2 goes to standby

I noticed after updating to Sequoia that my LG UltraFine doesn't turn off/sleep after my Mini M2 goes into standby. Instead, whenever the Mac Mini is in standby mode, the monitor is still on (e.g. bright screen but black).

Getting a couple of things out of the way.

  1. The monitor firmware is up to date.
  2. The display profile is Ultrafine
  3. The only monitor connected is this one.
  4. The connection is HDMI, using the in-box provided cable from LG.
  5. The issue wasn't present prior to Sequoia.
  6. My screen saver/lock screen settings are 30m (screen saver) and 1hour.
  7. My monitor's energy saver was ON after 4 hours and the issue was persistent.
  8. My monitor's Energy Saver was OFF and the issue was persistent.
  9. I'm running the latest Software Update from Apple.

Can someone provide some additional troubleshooting to resolve this?

Thanks!

Mac mini, macOS 15.1

Just to be sure, are you in fact selecting Lock Screen from the menu or are you still putting the Mac to sleep?

The fact that you have a black screen and the display is not indicating loss of signal, there is also the possibility that you have some app that has some background process running that is not responding to the macOS command to "take a break" and the Sleep or Lock Screen process does not complete.

FWIW, I have an LG 27UP600 that works just fine with Lock Screen. I select Lock Screen, the Lock Screen image appears, after a few minutes that goes away, the display indicates it lost signal, the display itself then enters its sleep mode.
