Screen time bug

I use macbook pro 15 inch mid 2014. I am on version 11.7.10. Whenever my screen time limit kicks in and i try to use garageband, I cannot ask for more time or enter the passcode. I cannot even quit it. The only thing I can do is force quit. This is not the case with any other apps. I would like to know how to avoid this

Kids Using Assistive Access To Override Screen Time Limits I see this thread (https://discussions.apple.com/thread/255620405?login=true&sortBy=rank) is closed and am wondering if the latest OS update (18.3) solved it.
