base models come with 16gb unified memory from now on. I bought my with 16gb a month ago and would like to request a refund for the 200$.
any idea how to reach Apple? The phone support was terrible. They did not even understood my request. They said they did not upgrade the Air, only the Pro was upgraded.
Do they have an email where I can reach them?

I understand your request for a refund, and I can save you the time by answering that question: the amount of memory installed cannot be changed after the Mac is built. There will be no refund nor is there a way to request one if there were.

Sorry, I think I do not understand. I bought it with 16gb 200$ more than it costs today, as 16gb got the base yesterday.

If that makes you feel better, you still have a device capable of running the current version of macOS with out any issues, compare to the case of the 8GB model that lost a value, as this is not a base model anymore.
I would try iMessage to contact support, but I doubt you get your 200 back
Apple upgraded the MacBook Pros, replacing M3-family models with M4-family ones.
In the case of the M2 and M3 MacBook Airs, the machines are the same as before – but now Apple is including at least 16 GB of RAM with all new models. This was a more quiet change, and the people answering the Support lines may not even have been aware of it.
I doubt if there is any sort of "price match" refund.
Apple will offer a price guarantee in most countries where they sell directly, for the same 14 days as the return policy, but only if a price was dropped for an existing model. They won't offer any compensation for a new model with increased specs.

If you thought it was a "rip off", why did you buy it?
If you purchased it directly from Apple, the return period was 14 days. You can’t get a refund.
