In Podcasts, it automatically plays podcasts then deletes

I have the 18.0.1 iOS version. My podcasts automatically play, especially in CarPlay but also otherwise. If I choose to listen to something else, it marks the podcast as play even though I did not listen to the whole thing.

Why does no longer play next episode but jumps to the next podcast? My podcasts used to play the next episodes, now it jumps to the next podcast instead. Not only can I not just continue on to the next episode of the podcast I chose to listen to, it auto jumps to an entirely different podcast and not even the next unplayed one, but the newest episode of that podcast.

How can I stop my Podcasts from auto-queuing? Any suggestions on how to stop podcast from automatically going into the Up Next queue? In addition, they are also being marked just played when they go into that queue. The continuous playback is off and fortunately has stopped, but this is very irritating. iOS 16 Podcasts Now Play Randomly Before the iOS 16 update, I could set Podcasts to play the oldest unplayed episode from Consider This. When that ended, I could press the play button on my bluetooth speaker and the next oldest unplayed episode of Consider This would play. I could keep pressing play at the end of each episode until I played all of the unplayed episodes of Consider This. Since upgrading to iOS 16, after an episode of Consider This finishes, pressing the play button on my bluetooth speaker plays some random podcast from any show in my library. This is annoying. How can I get the Podcasts app to keep playing the podcasts from the current show?

iOS 18.1 (not 18.0.1) should fix it.
