Podcasts are stuck on continuous play

Since the IOS 18 updates my podcasts have been stuck on continuous play. The toggle is off in settings for continuous play but they just keep autoplaying the next and don't stop between anymore.

Because I listen to Podcasts at night to get to sleep I find that later in the night I am now being woken by them it is really frustrating. Turning the phone off and on again has not helped

That is what should work... forever. However, after a few days of toggling the switch, I will finish a podcast and the iphone continues to play the next podcast. After iOS 18 update I Can't stop Continupus Playback of Podcasts Since updating my iPhone 14 to iOS 18, podcasts play continuously even though I have NOT selected that. Checking the Podcast Settings Continuous Play is not selected and is set to Off. However Podcasts play continuously anyway. What can I do to stop this behavior?
