AirPlay broken in IOS 18?

Hi gang. I’m on 18.2.1 and I am still having this problem. I did the network reset as per the earlier notes but no joy.

I’m using airplay to connect to a Marantz hifi unit, and it has worked perfectly for years. Now it cuts in and out , it seems the that music carries on playing but the sound just stops.

hoping someone has tried another approach?

I’m a non-techie septegenarin, and, while using Apple since a 1988 Mac Plus and a Beta user, I’m new this month to AirPlay, HomePods and Apple TV (freestanding HDMI unit to plasma TV). The whole works were randomly disconnecting, especially when I rent a room away from the base Pod. Even the iPhone 16 on 18.3 was disconnecting from my Wi-Fi, while my MacBook & security base were staying WiFi-connected. Pausing the phone VPN didn’t help. Finally took the phone WiFi setting off of Rotating and returned it to Fixed. Didn’t even have to reboot the phone, just restarted the media I’d been playing through 2 HomePods & the Apple TV unit. After several indecisive minutes of iOS attempting reconnections, the setup came back online: so far, so good.

After iOS 18 loaded Air Play doesn’t work. My Samsung smart TV nor my Roku Ultra are displayed even though they are on the same WiFi.

OK here - iPhone 15 Pro to HomePods.

Check with Samsung & Denon manufacturers.

Only works accessing all music via Sonos app. Error message if try by

music apps directly. Hulu too.

I received 18.1.1 a day later after 18.1. 18.1 likely did it but l have no way of knowing at this point. 18.1,1 does support AirPlay and screen mirroring. I also tried changing all my TVs back to their Mfr’s device name and they all started to respond faster too. I’ve had a problem with loss of audio on my Roku Ultra but haven’t tested it yet. Hopefully it will be resolved too. I also noted that AirPlay still has a problem with periodic interruptions in streaming video that has been a long term issue with AirPlay. However screen mirroring is now as solid as a rock and allows easy switching between websites without loss of the mirroring session.

Ok, so having done nothing since yesterday to resolve the nonworking AirPlay to my Yamaha, today it now magically works....someone at Apple must have intoned the correct magic incantation and spritz of pixie dust to the heavens. Back in business, thanks.

Well my AirPlay “works” with my Marantz receiver. Every second or third song, seems like it’s playing but no sound. Skipping to next song and the sound is back even skipping back get thing playing again.

anyone with same problem?

I’m on IOS 18.1.1

My Sony soundbar, HT-5000, now shows up reliably as an AirPlay device whenever I attempt to stream Audio to it.

People are saying 18.4 is going to be a BIG release. At least as far as AirPlay is concerned, this seems true so far.

Just tried this and it failed to work.

Has anyone else come up with an alternate solution?

I tried the fix szaitsev suggested. It did not work with my Dennon system through Control4. Anyone else find something that does work?

Thank you, this fixed my issue not being able to airplay to my Marantz after update to iOS18.

I did this and it didn't work. Everything was fine until the 18.1.1 update. Now my iPhone13 will not connect to my TV. Please help.
