touch light on iphone 16 pro max

on commercials, a guy just touches the side of the iPhone 16 pro max and there is a color of light that flows across the screen. How do I get mine to do that.

Proximity Sensor Visible Through Display, iPhone 14 Pro/Pro Max As stated in the keynote address announcing the iPhone 14 Pro Series, the proximity sensor (and apparently the ambient light sensor) has been relocated to behind the display and not within the Dynamic Island. Can anyone else actually see the proximity sensor while either flashing a flashlight or directing sunlight to the area of the screen below the Dynamic Island? Or do I have a defect in my screen?

Wait for iOS 18.1 with Apple Intelligence.
