How can I change my Payment Method in Family Sharing?

I’m set as a parent/guardian in my families group, because my mom pays for extra iCloud storage she allows me to use. But everytime I try to buy something it automatically tries to charge her and there’s nothing I can do about it, she doesn’t want me Charging her card for purchases, so what I usually have to do is leave the family buy something and join back. I’ve tried using my card and Apple Cash in wallet too but it won’t let me. We’ve went through the family settings and there’s nothing on her nor my end to change it. Is there any setting we can toggle? Or should I just keep leaving the family everytime I want to buy something on the App Store.

From: Add a family member to your shared subscriptions - Apple Support

"If you're the family organizer and you don't want to pay for family members' purchases and subscriptions, you can turn off Purchase Sharing [ How to share apps and purchases with your family - Apple Support ]. When Purchase Sharing is turned off, everyone must use their own payment method. When Purchase Sharing is turned off, family members can share subscriptions, but they can't share individual purchases like apps or books."

I can't think of any reason why leaving a family group would change your ability to use account balance. It is always charged first even if you are in or out of a family group, unless you are buying something for which balance cannot be used.
