Apple Home pods interrupting while playing music from iPhone

Why does this continue to happen now? It didn’t when I first purchased them. And please, any responses appreciated but in simple to understand language about what to do.

Apple Podcasts removing unplayed pods from feed Ever since the second to last update downloaded on my iPhone, pods that I have not listened to yet are randomly disappearing from my feed because they are marked played. Even if I go in to a podcast ( that magically got marked as played even though I did not play it) and mark it unplayed so it shows back up in my feed, it will sometimes mark itself played again. I listen to so many podcasts so it’s super difficult to track and remember which ones I have listened to now because they keep disappearing from my feed. The last update was offered soon after the penultimate one so I thought that might have a fix, but no such luck. I currently have 18.0.1.
