The computer shows that the printer is on when I am going to scan for example.
then, all of the sudden the computer shows that the printer is off-red light. and I try and try to get it out off sleep. But I just can't
It turns back on whenever it pleases!

Hmmm.. NegritaCucurumbe… a printer that goes to sleep when you want it to scan ( or do something) ..:. Maybe it had too many late nights up partying ( joke( anyways… I don’t know what model and maker/manufacturer of printer you have… only that you have one , and it’s multi-function… maybe look in the printer’s settings for Energy Saving features… eg, turn off when idle… for that you’d need to read the user guide/instruction manual for that make/manufacturer and model of printer…
