Apple Watch and Nike Run Club App

I have an Apple Watch with OS Version 8.8.1 and I just downloaded the Nike Run Club app to my phone.

When I go into the watch app it is in the Applications List and when I select it it bring me to a screen with a toggle to "Show App on Apple Watch" I click to toggle on and it will toggle on and immediately toggle off with no error message.

What do I need to do to show the NRC app on the watch?
