Why is apple arcade charging 15.99

I'm trying to subscribe to Apple arcade, i have previously had a subscription about 4 years ago but I got a Samsung so I obviously canceled it but now I have an iPad and I want to resubscribe. It says it's 6.99 everywhere, in the description and when I click on the sub button, it says "price: 6.99 per month" but I put my card info in and charge it and it tries to charge 15.99. Luckily I only had enough for the sub in my account or I would have been really mad if it took that from me.
