Ability to lock zoom or disable trackpad zoom for certain apps

Using pinch to zoom on the trackpad is great for some apps, indeed pretty much essential for some like maps. But it is extremely frustrating in other apps because it is far, far too easy to inadvertently zoom on the trackpad. It happens all the time and is really disruptive.

Is there a way to lock zoom in apps like Pages and Numbers to prevent such inadvertent zooming?

Or a way to disable trackpad zoom for certain apps?

Or a patch to reduce the sensitivity of the pinch gesture?

I don't want to have to turn off pinch to zoom because that makes it difficult to use other apps when I’m using my laptop without a mouse.
