Help with recovering screenshots on my Mac

I took 10-12 screenshots and saved them to my desktop. Then I took the entire group of screenshots and transferred them to a file folder on my desktop. When I try to open the screenshots while in this file, I can only pull up the very last screenshot I saved. I am unable to pull up all the other screenshots I took earlier. Is there a fix for this problem?
