I'm browsing the 'all photos' view in the new iOS 18 photos app. Thumbnails are blank, leaving the app alone, they arrive so slowly as to make the app unusable.
I have the optimised storage option, but this is pointless. I can't go back in time to see older photos.

I have IOS 18.0.1 but the photos app is a little bit strange if you just new with that update! I think iOS 17 photos app is better!
so I don’t know how to fix it but apple need to do new updates for that.
Just wait a little bit for new updates! Where still on iOS 18.0.1

Still no changes after installing the latest update 18.1.1. Before that update photos app showed just about twelve of the in total 1600 photos. The rest were gray thumbnails. After installing 18.1.1 even the gray thumbnails were gone. Obviously Apple has other priorities…
Example - I watched this screen for a few minutes, and only 1 or 2 appeared. Pointless.
