How do I recover my lost PDF files on iPad Pro?

A few days ago I lost most of my PDF files that were saved in the “On My iPad”. To be precise, those were the files that I used almost everyday, and the files that I hardly open didn't disappear.

I tried to find the files in the “Recently deleted”, but they’re not there. In the end, they’ve just disappeared as they never existed.

*The files that were located in the iCloud are still there.

**I use iPadOS 17.6.1

***The storage isn’t full, there’s a lot of space.

Is there any chance to recover my lost files? Or they will never be found.?

Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve issues, but it seems that hasn’t helped in your case. Do you have a backup of your files in iCloud or elsewhere?

To be honest, this issue appears quite difficult to resolve. Do you remember performing any actions on those files before they disappeared? It’s certainly strange for them to vanish without any reason.
