Frequent search, save stalls on Mac mini m2 pro

I’m having problems on my Mac mini Pro. Frequently when trying to save or open a document or even doing a search across my hard drives system hangs for several minutes I optimized all my hard drives and optimize the Mac itself if it continues to be a problem for a year or so now, just wondering if anyone else is having this problem I have about six external drives all connected with usb3.

Photoshop in particular whenever I go to save an image stalls for several minutes and then comes up with the file error and then I can click save again and it works. It’s like it can’t find the driver or something when he’s trying to save.
