Kernel Panic With 4k 240 Hz External Monitor

When connected to my Alienware AW3225QF 4k 240 Hz monitor with my M2 Max MacBook Pro, I encounter a kernel panic and a system crash at least once every 2 days. Is this issue specific to the high resolution and refresh rate combo?

OK, I got some 'good news' here. Been talking to the Apple Support, explaining the situation and just aknowledging.

The person found a 'tracker' about this issue, as of yesterday. Apple team is currently working on this to fix it in an upcoming firmware update. He also said that in the tracker it says that reducing the framerate to 120Hz in the meantime is a workaround in the meantime.

Yes, it's unfortunate to not be able to use the highest refresh rates on our 240 Hz monitors. I hope Apple fixes this sometime soon.

It's too risky in terms of data loss. I just use it at 120 Hz for now.

I fixed this... They updated my firmware at the Apple Store... I have a MacBook M2 Pro and a 240hz monitor....

Thanks! The ASUS PG32UCDP has a completely different LG WOLED panel, so it seems the issue isn't limited to Samsung QD-OLED panels.

Exactly same issue here. 2 panics already. Mac Studio M4 Max with Dell U4025QW. And this display goes only to 120Hz.

Then it is NOT the same problem other are reporting, at all.

others are reporting a problem CAUSED by 240 Hz refresh rate.

Error msg was exactly the same. But for me it stopped when I switched from adaptive refresh rate to locked 120Hz.
