How to Erase old time capsule and use again??

I have an old time capsule (2014ish maybe). I had my old MacBook Pro synced to it. I have just bought a new MacBook Air and would love to have it backing up to the time capsule.

I'm looking to not sync the data from the time capsule to my new computer. I want to erase the info off the time capsule and just start using it fresh.

Right now the capsule is linked to my internet through a cable and not wifi.

Any ideas I would love to hear them. :). thanks

Open Airport Utility (Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility

Click on the Time Capsule

Click Edit in the smaller widow that appears

Click on the Disks tab at the top of the next window

Click on Erase Disk

Select the Zero Out Data option to securely erase the disk.

Click Erase

This process will likely take 6-8 hours. The Time Capsule front panel light will blink amber during this process. You will be notified when the process is complete.

And.....you are done with the erase.

Now.....you can set up the new Mac to start backing up to the Time Capsule.
