Filter Unknown Senders Messages Feature

iOS messages app has had this feature called “filter unknown senders” which never works properly. Unwanted texts from random numbers not in, nor ever were in my contacts, show up in the known senders section ALL THE TIME. This has been ongoing since it was released in iOS 16, continued in 17, and now 18. I reported it to Apple, many online have some the same. How is it possible they haven’t fixed this basic feature?

Apple has become so embarrassing at this point.
