When looking for some photos taken in Oct. 2023 but when I open "Photos" on my phone, and select "All Photos" and then "Library" I can only see some of the photos from that month, not all of them. Why?

This is Hobsknob. I made a mistake in posting this problem. The pix in question were never taken with my iPhone but rather with my Panasonic camera - the pix are not "lost" after all - I found them on my PC. But I couldn't find a way to delete my post so hope this might work instead.
