Apple ID Recovery

Apple has a new verification process when you can’t remember your password.

My account was locked for 24 hours and I got an email telling me I had to wait an additional 3 days to reset my password. I went into the store to prove it was me and they said they couldn’t help or speed the process. How the heck can someone behind a computer override a store expert who can clearly see it’s my account. because my phone screen was cracked so my trusted device was unable to verify. When I reset my password, it locked me out. Customer care stated they’re trying to protect my security?HOW? When I can verify anything and everything in person and over the phone. The chaos Apple will get when this starts actually happening to more customers will be the reason people will be switching over to other providers. My phone is my lifeline and simply creating a new ID when my life is in my old ID is NUTS!!!! This is the most insane security process ever!!!

Having to rely on Account Recovery has always had a waiting period. If you want to be able to reset the password immediately, you need another Trusted Device or have a Trusted Phone Number already set up on your account.
