Need Your Apple Pages Expertise: Calculating Costs from Durations!

In Apple Pages, I have a table set up as follows:

  • Cell A1 will contain a duration in a custom format (hours and minutes).
  • I want to calculate the cost of this duration at a rate of $50 per hour in Cell A2.

Could you please guide me on how to set this up correctly, including any necessary cell formatting and the formulas I need to use?

Cell A1

Click on this cell and select Cell Data Format to Duration using Custom Units of hr | min.

Enter the duration as (e.g. 336h 0m).

Cell A2

Click on this cell and select Cell Data Format to Currency, 2 Decimals, and optionally thousands separator and Accounting Style.

Enter cost as 50

Cell A3

Click on this cell and select Cell Data Format to Currency, same as Cell A2.

Enter the formula by typing = and then entering A1 * A2 and click the green checkmark in the equation panel.

The calculation will immediately appear as:

It is better to reserve a cell for the cost in case it changes rather than embed the cost into a formula.
