IMovie is not importing songs from Apple Music of iTunes

I am trying to import purchased songs from iTunes or downloaded songs on Apple to iMovie or CapCut on my Mac. I am able to import from my phone to CapCut but my Mac does not allow it. The file type says it is protected on the Mac but not protected on the iPhone. It will randomly work and allow me to pull in songs. I have been making videos with songs purchased for years but once I got this Mac it all of a sudden stopped allowing me to import songs and says they are protected even though I have used them on different projects.
