Intel iMac can't open Bootcamp with a Bluetooth keyboard. Option key not active early enough in boot up sequence.

My USB keyboard died recently and now I can't reach Bootcamp because on the Bluetooth (Magic) keyboard, it appears that the Option key isn't active until after the Bootcamp onramp is in the rearview mirror of the boot up sequence. What to do?

You could try using the rEFInd graphical boot manager so that you do not need to Option Boot. rEFInd can be the default bootloader which presents you with a graphical screen showing bootable volumes. IIRC, except for the rEFInd installer script, nothing of rEFInd will run on either system since the installer script just places rEFInd onto the hidden EFI (aka ESP) partition.
