iCloud or Apple One?

I am confused. I am paying for 2TB storage with iCloud every month.

Then I get an email with an iTunes logo stating my Apple One subscription will renew soon. Apple One has 2 TB storage.

So what is happening here?

Am I paying for iCloud and missing out on the benefits of Music etc with Apple One for the same price?

I have logged into my account and deactivated Apple One. .. but I hope this does not effect iCloud storage which I am paying for.

I am using Family Sharing so maybe one of my family inadvertently activated Music; though they reassure me that they had not.

What do you (members of this community) do? iCloud Storage or Apple One? And why doesn't Apple simply offer one service if it includes storage within Apple One anyway?

Thank you.

iCloud with 2TB is $9.99.

iCloud+ plans and pricing - Apple Support

Apple One Premier is $37.95

  • 2TB
  • Apple Music
  • Apple TV
  • Apple Arcade
  • Apple Fitness
  • Apple News

Apple One - Apple

The price breakdown for the services in Apple One Premier if purchased individually is:

  • 2TB - $9.99
  • Apple Music - $16.99
  • Apple TV - $9.99
  • Apple Arcade - $6.99
  • Apple Fitness - $9.99
  • Apple News - $12.99

The total if purchased individually would be $66.94 instead of the Apple One Premier price of $37.95

I have the Apple One Individual plan as I had a Music and TV subscriptions before and with Apple One for a dollar less I got 50GB of iCloud and Apple Arcade for free.
