Why is my external DAC not working with iOS 18?

hi,

I have an iPhone 13 mini iOS 18.0.1 with a Lightning Apple camera adapter (A1619 firmware 1.0.5) on which I plugged an external Dac (cowon plenue 2) using a otg usb cable. My setup worked with ios17 and does not work anymore with ios18. When my Dac switches in USB Dac mode, the sound continue to be played on the iPhone. I tested it with the Apple Music app and Qobuz app, same problem.

would you have an idea how to output sound from iPhone to external Dac with ios18 ?

Yes I’m same problem. I have an iPhone 16 Pro Max with iOS 18.2

i plugged an external DAC (Luxury & Precision) using type c cable. I have try on iOS 17.7 still working, but no for iOS 18.

I'm having same problem. iPhone 13 Pro Max running iOS 18.1, trying with Apple camera adapter with Spectra DAC. Also with ALO Audio Pilot DAC with USB C to Lightning adapter. Phone and associated apps (Apple Music, Qobuz, Tidal, Roon) do not recognize DAC connection at all. Would love to figure out how to resolve.

Same thing. Iphone and ipad, both worked with steelseries nova pro on ios17 and stopped working on ios18.

Buying airpods is not a solution.

I have a Cambridge Audio DACmagic 100 plugged into an Onkyo amp. It works perfectly with my old iPad Air (1st Gen, IOS 12.5.7) using a Lightning to USB typeB cable. But When I try to plug the same cable into my iPhone 14 Pro, music will not play through, only comes out of the iPhone speaker. So did something change in the hardware of the iphone or the IOS?
