I tried to sync my new Iphone 16 Pro Max to my MacBook Pro running Mac OS Ventura 13.7. My Mac would not recognize that my phone is connected. I tried multiple USB-C cables, updated both, the iPhone and Mac to the latest software updates available, but nothing seems to work. My Mac is the 15" from 2017. Any info on when apple will fix this?

I am having the same issue. Brand new iPhone 16 Pro, ios 18.0.1. Mac M1 Studio Ultra running Ventura 13.7. The Mac does not "see" the phone at all, except to charge. When I plug it in I get the same "Software Update" required message that I used to get with my iPhone 7. It made sense then, but makes no sense now. I have called Apple Support twice and have been told that OS Ventura should connect to this iPhone. But Finder does not see it. iTunes/Music does not see it. It charges. It's not the cable, it's the new cable that came with the phone. Any other ideas?
I don't see a Ventura community. And I fail to understand why no one from Apple Support or the Apple Community seems able to answer this simple question. My guess is that Ventura is NOT supported under ios 18, even the non-AI 18.0.1 version. But no one seems to know one way or the other. And I find that incredibly frustrating, since Ventura is only two OS's behind the latest. All I want to do is be able to manage my own music on my iPhone, and Apple has always insisted on making it so very hard, and continues to make it hard. Actually, impossible... ok, done venting...
