Privacy and Security Blocking Install

Trying to activate Netgear Armor on my Mac running OS18. When installing it says I need to allow Netgear to have access under my privacy and security menu. The issue is the Netgear does not show up as demonstrated by the example from Netgear under the Security heading. In fact, I have nothing there to see at all. I assume this is a mac issue or setting.

I have removed disconnected VPn and Norton software so I have nothing other than Mac settings determining when I can see the software from Norton to be actioned. Any help would be greatly appreciated as Netgear have demonstrated they have no idea.

The Netgear Armor Agent should be visible between the line "allow applications from and the fireVault"

Attached is a photo of the security and systems settings which should be displaying the Netgear software for approval.

This will include Norton Antivirus

Once this type of software is installed and embedded into the computer  >> Third Party Norton Security Software

You can spend hours or days hunting down all the bits and pieces of this software and never really get it all off the computer

Start Over from Scratch

For Apple Silicon computer >> Use Disk Utility to erase a Mac with Apple silicon.

For Apple Intel computers >>   Use Disk Utility to erase an Intel-based Mac followed by How to reinstall macOS

Always make a Time Machine Backup  before  proceeding

If going this route - I suggest Not using Startup Assist to migrate everything back.

This will probably Re-Introduce (Third Party Norton Security Software ) back into the Operating System

The Built in Security  is all that is required to protect the computer.

In macOS 15 Sequoia, Apple has restructured the location for managing system extensions. To approve system software that doesn't appear in the usual settings, follow these steps:

  1. Open System Settings:
    • Click on the Apple menu () in the top-left corner of your screen.
    • Select System Settings from the dropdown menu.
  1. Navigate to Login Items & Extensions:
    • In the sidebar, click on General.
    • On the right, select Login Items & Extensions.
  1. Manage Extensions:
    • Scroll down to the Extensions section.
    • Here, you'll find categories like Network ExtensionsFinder Extensions, and others.
    • Click the information icon (ℹ️) next to the relevant category to view and manage its extensions.
  1. Approve the Extension:
    • Locate the specific extension you wish to enable.
    • Toggle the switch to enable it.
    • You may be prompted to enter your administrator password or use Touch ID to authorize the change.
