Podcast app does not save my place across devices

I only listen to one podcast continuously and want to keep my timestamp where I listened to on all my devices. I listen on my phone when I am out, I use my macbook when I am at my desk, and use my ipad randomly other times. The annoying thing is I have to find where I listened up to because it does not sync up to where I listened when I switch device. Library syncing button is switched on for all devices and I am signed into my apple ID on all apps on each device. I also tried refresh feed option on my macbook, which also did not work. Please help as I want to use this app but it looks like I will have to go back to spotify.
