How to enter password for Apple Watch on IPhone

I have a series 6 Apple Watch and a iPhone 13 max pro. The watch wants to update, but to continue with the update, I must first enter in my Appleid.

I cannot find the place on my phone where I can enter my ID. I recall doing this some time ago, but I cannot recall how. My password is complex, so the scribble method will not work (though I haven’t come across that method either). Can anyone help?

Make sure that on your iPhone in Settings/Notifications/Apple Watch keyboard is enabled.

Then bring your iPhone near the Apple Watch. When the watch asks for the password, you should get a message on your iPhone, asking, if you want to use the iOS keyboard to type the password and send it to the Apple Watch.
