Camera is crashing with iOS 18 update on my iPhone 16 pro.
iPhone 16 pro running newly released iOS 18. Now camera suddenly crashing upon opening and/or lagging. Can't use camera functionality at all really. Reboot fixes it but only for one picture. Clearly not a hardware issue as this is being reported in multiple forums / across device models.

Yes, there was an update for iOS 18. Strangely, in fact, it was an update from 18.0 to 18.0, but with different build numbers.
Camera is crashing for me too. Doesn't matter if I launch the camera from the lock screen shortcut, camera control button, app on home screen, etc.
And 18.1 still camera crashing.

Just purchased a new iPhone Pro. Camera is crashing constantly. Functionality doesn’t seem to work. IOS 18.1.1. Bought this phone for the camera… disappointed.
You would think so, but I actually experienced this myself. I have a brand new iPhone 16 Pro and within a day or two of setting it up it wanted to do an update to iOS 18 even though it already had iOS 18 I thought it was very confusing, but it installed something.
It just exits the camera app if I try to use or change functionality - I am able to open the camera again, but will exit (crash) again. Unable to lightly tap to get scroll or lightly double tap to change functionality. Either of those exits (crashes) camera also.
Have you done a forced restart yet? It does much more than when you just turn the device off and back on.

It comes with iOS 18 built-in. There is no update required for iOS 18.
