My setup is Apple TV 4K (2nd Gen), 2 OG HomePods.
Steaming apps work without issue. Apple Music worked fine before updating to TVOS 18. Now it plays songs to begin with, then either changes quality, loses bass and become super quiet OR stop audio altogether but the music app shows as still playing. Restarting doesn’t make a difference.

I’ve tried force quitting the Apple Music App and Restarting both Apple TV and HomePods. However, still the issue remains occurring. Additionally, I’ve noticed that the problem principally occurs when playing Songs with Dolby Atmos Format.
Did you Force-quit the Apple Music app first before you Restarted Apple TV? If not, try that. Also restart HomePods. It’s not clear which devices you restarted.
Do you have the HomePods paired and as the default sound output to the Apple TV or are you just temp air playing from the Apple TV to the HomePods?
I have the Stereo Pair HomePods connected as the default output for the Apple TV.
I have similar issues after updating too. My Hompods have a crackling sound after about the 2nd song, just to mention one.
About 3 days ago I posted my problems but no responses. but nothing of the issues with 18.

Experiencing similar sound issues, all of them after updating to tvOS 18 and HomePod 18. And yes songs ending abruptly after the second song, and then randomly afterwards.
