Sequoia update has caused mounting issues with external hard drives. Ex: had one working and then all of a sudden M3 Max MacBook Pro stops recognizing the device. Now, it won't even find it when it's plugged in. Device works fine on other devices.
Same here: after Sequoia update, randomly I can't "ejects" external drivers (all types)
The exact same thing is happening to me since installing Sequoia! As a photographer it’s a critical bug that needs fixing!

Same problems, year after year, especially fall of each year when old bugs continuously resurface. This is Apple, realize that.

By the way, apart from the hardware, there are no legacy issues here. Two of the drives were formatted on this very Mini, before being pressed into service as TM drives.
With an MB, or a desktop? On the desktop there is no option for allowing devices to connect, therefore, no "make disk visible". At least, not that I've found as of this writing.

My issue is WITH a powered hub. :( Glad it works for you. I now have an external that isn't usable because S***quoia won't work with my powered hub. :(
